Kwpx are creative people, accelerating growth through deeper connections. We believe deeper connections lead to better business.
With over 30 years of industry experience, kwpx is one of the largest independent communications companies in Australia.
2022 saw some exciting changes to our offering. The new kwpx combines our independence, rich history and established strengths with a world-class digital and creative offering.
We have an industry-leading team of people across our Adelaide and Darwin offices and are a fully integrated and full-service advertising agency, providing a rich range of communications and marketing solutions that reflect a true customer experience through Brand, Digital and Media, all in-house.
We build partnerships with our clients, ensuring that we understand their customer’s mindset, which is critical for their business growth.
We practice a proven and strategic discipline within our multidisciplinary teams, our method is called DEEP™. At kwpx, we look down before we look up.
Killey Withy Advertising
Disenchanted with the corporate structure of their existing employment, Andrew Killey and Peter Withy launch Killey Withy Advertising. With its three key tenets jotted on a serviette: “Do great work”, “Have fun”, “Make a fair profit”. A philosophy to live by. Three out of three was the aim. Two out of three is mostly unacceptable. One is simply not tolerated.
Lyn Punshon joins Killey and Withy. Not only did he add the ‘P’ to KW, he brought with him a technological prowess that his partners viewed with a level of suspicion. This was also the year we moved into our first “modern” office on Carrington street, no chance of ever out-growing this! (we thought).
Coopers Brewery sign with KWP and an enduring SA partnership is born! Countless campaigns, exceptional results and significant growth for both companies has come since.

“Lousy Hours, Undue Stress, Average Money, Weird Management” – an early job ad from KWP!
The Gold Chair
Early in KWP!’s history we declared our goal to one day win the ‘Gold Chair’ in the Adelaide Art Director Awards. On Mon 19 March 2001, after a decade in business, our wish came true!
The year we merged with Total Brand Management Group, forming one of the largest independent agencies in Australia.
We celebrated our 21st birthday by strengthening our media capabilities, entering into a licensing agreement with communications agency, Ikon Media.
Following other, successful tourism campaigns for the SA Tourism Commission, “Barossa. Be Consumed.” is launched. The ad goes on to be celebrated worldwide, winning trophies in 11 countries, including Germany, France, Poland and the US. The pinnacle was being named as the world’s best tourism film at the 2014 Festival of Festivals in Vienna.
“And the winner is”
More awards for our growing team – we are named AdNews’ State Agency Of The Year.
The Darwin Connection
We sent some of our best up north to officially open our doors in Darwin! Darwin provided the perfect location for KWP! to expand, we quickly established ourselves as the the go-to agency in the area. Securing NT Tourism and as a client has cemented our position as local experts.
In 2018 we left our home in the West End and moved East. With our goal of creating more integrated teams, we needed a new home that allowed for collaboration and idea bounceability. Moving into the old Nova Cinema on Rundle Street allowed us to create the perfect space, with open plan office, spacious communal areas and dedicated meeting spaces, our new home is the perfect base for what will be an exciting future for our team.
Merge with Digital Noir
The world has gone digital and this year we made the exciting decision to bolster our offering in the digital space by merging with local company, Digital Noir. Combining their expertise with our existing digital team, we now have a powerhouse offering and are a truly integrated agency.
The Future is NOW
The future is exciting for kwpx. We have big ambitions, we have created a full-service offering, competing with not only local but interstate and international talent. We are focussed on our next phase. We are building something new.
