Kwpx Agency has announced significant changes in its leadership structure with the promotion of Sam Davies to the role of managing director, kwpx Adelaide.

Davies, who joined kwpx through the merger of his successful agency Digital Noir (DN) in 2021, brings a wealth of operational experience to his new role. Having spearheaded the successful growth of multiple creative agencies, Davies’ appointment underscores kwpx’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial talent within its ranks. Since integrating DN into kwpx, Davies has led both the digital and advertising divisions as the executive director of brand and digital.

The announcement coincides with the appointment of Sam Talbot as the new head of advertising, signalling kwpx’s dedication to assembling a high-calibre leadership team. This strategic leadership team, comprising of division heads and directors from Adelaide, Fremantle and Darwin is poised to drive kwpx’s national strategy forward.

Commenting on these changes, chair and CEO David O’Loughlin highlighted their significance in propelling the agency’s national leadership: “As we expand our footprint and deepen our reach nationally, it’s imperative to bring through the next generation of leaders within the agency. Sam Davies epitomises the entrepreneurial spirit we value at kwpx, and his appointment as managing director of the Adelaide office underscores our commitment to driving both growth, and the independent spirit of the agency.”

Kwpx’s merger with Fremantle-based creative agency & Partners in 2023, coupled with a series of recent senior appointments, reflects the company’s strategic expansion efforts. Some of these appointments include Brenton Bleechmore as executive creative director (ex Ogilvy), the aforementioned Sam Talbot (ex VML), Morgan Owen as head of strategy (ex Pollinate), and Tessa Briscoe as media director (ex Wavemaker).

Davies expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to help lead kwpx into its next chapter: “I am thrilled to oversee the agency in Adelaide and contribute to the legacy of kwpx and our continued success. I have an extremely talented bunch of humans alongside me, we are all hungry to do brave work and I am going to keep that fire burning hot.”

Talbot (pictured to the right), who came into kwpx in early 2023 from VML Sydney as director of client services has been promoted to head of advertising, echoed Davies’ sentiments: “Watch this space – even with a legendary catalogue of work our best is yet to come. Under our new strategy, Sam Davies’ leadership and with the support of our talented team, we are ready to achieve great things.”

As kwpx embarks on this exciting journey with a reinvigorated leadership team, the agency remains steadfast in their commitment to partnering with brave clients and creating deeper connections between brands and humans.
